ECG is pleased to announce the success of its General Assembly & Spring Congress 2023, held in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 2023 May 11-12. The event received a strong turnout from members and partners of the association in the Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) industry.
During the General Assembly, attendees were provided with updates on various Working Groups and engaged in discussions on industry trends. The event also included ECG Board elections, resulting in the appointment of new board members Xavier de Conigliano from CEVA Logistics, Neringa Jasiulionienė from Manvesta and Marcos Duato from Suardiaz Shipping Line.
The General Assembly was followed by the Gala Dinner, which concluded with the graduation ceremony of the ECG Academy. The ceremony included the presentation of awards to exceptional students. Darlina Mamaqi from MOSOLF Automotive Releasing Solutions GmbH (MARS GmbH) received the Digital Mindset award by ProAct while Laura Buitrago from Toyota Motor Europe was honored with the Giovanni Paci Award for Best Student.
The ECG Academy, renowned for its unique Certificate in Automobile Logistics Management, was developed to meet the growing demand for specialised training in the finished vehicle logistics sector. Volvo Cars' ECG Academy 2022/2023 graduate, Kris Schildermans, praised the Academy, stating, "When signing up for the Academy, I never could have imagined how it was to experience it in reality. The course was fantastic and I´m very happy that I had the opportunity to participate."
The following day, the Spring Congress continued with presentations covering various topics of interest. delegates had the opportunity to learn about the European market outlook, Finished Vehicle Exports from China, Forecasting Methodology, FVL Cost Index Q4 update, EU Affairs & Fit for 55, and Emissions Reporting. The event concluded with a panel discussion on the pressing issue of Capacity Crisis, featuring insights from OEMs.
