On 2 August 2016, the European Commission’s Directorate-General Mobility and Transport set up the Commission Expert Group on Rail Market Access in order to advise the Commission during the preparation of legislative acts as envisaged by Directive 2012/34/EU establishing a single European railway areaSearch for available translations of the preceding linkEN•••. The expert group, renamed as the Single European Railway Area Forum (SERAF) in September 2022, supports the Commission in the further implementation of Directive 2012/34/EU and in relation to the establishment of the single European railway area more broadly.
The Commission is calling for applications with a view to selecting members of the group other than Member States' authorities and other public entities.
This call is a continuously open call with no deadline. Applications may be sent at any time throughout the existence of the group.
A first round of evaluations will be organised in January 2023. In order to be considered in the first round, applicants must send duly signed applications by 16 December 2022, 12:00 (noon) at the latest.
