The Russian Government issued a resolution on 30 September 2022 imposing a ban on certain foreign freight vehicles owned by foreign transport operators and registered in foreign states to undertake road transport operations on Russian territory. The ban applies to vehicles registered in the EU, Norway, the UK and Ukraine and covers all types of road transport operations: bilateral, transit and to/from third countries.
The ban will enter into force on 10 October 2022 and remain in effect until the end of the year. Foreign vehicles that will be or transit through Russian territory after the entry into force of the resolution can leave Russia within seven days. International transport operations between foreign countries and the Kaliningrad region are exempted, as well as operations of goods listed in the annex.
