On Friday, 5 April 11:00-12:00 (CEST) ECG will organize a webinar to present the yearly analysis of incidents happening in Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL).
ECG member and non-member companies who are responsible for drivers are invited to join the webinar. You can register at this link.
The agenda for the webinar includes an introduction to the ECG Health & Safety Working Group (H&S WG), an overview of 2023 incidents and key recommendations.
The yearly report is an analysis of incidents reported on the incident reporting website developed by the H&S WG in 2018. The aim of the website is to gather information on severe accidents and near-misses happening during loading and unloading in trucking operations. The data is analysed to share insightful information and contribute to improve drivers safety. Since 2019 ECG has published yearly reports with the analysis of the most common incidents in the industry and with the key recommendations on how to prevent them. Full reports from previous years are available on our website.

About H&S WG
ECG pursues its objective to enhance safety in vehicle logistics and road transportation since 2018 when the H&S WG was funded. The main objective of this working group is to work towards improving the safety of truck drivers especially during loading and unloading operations. Currently, the H&S WG has one active sub-group (SG1). To work towards its objectives, the H&S WG also produced the ECG Guidelines - Safe loading process, detailed and visually instructive approach to loading and unloading operations on trucks and the ECG Guidelines - Safe Yard Design, a standard for safe environments in hubs & compounds the. As a next step, the H&S WG will be looking at the delivery at retailers with an aim to identify safety risks and develop a process for improving safety in this area.
