The Association of European Vehicle Logistics (ECG), the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and original equipment manufacturers will be working together in a cross-industry project to create a standard methodology for calculating and reporting on automotive supply chain emissions.
The aim is to harmonise existing greenhouse gas accounting methods and fill in the gaps in the automotive sector. It will be based on the upcoming ISO 14083 on quantification and reporting of GHG emissions arising from transport chain operations and will be applicable by companies at global level. The results of the cross-industry undertaking are expected to be published in Q3/2023.
