Stobart Europe has bought Soloja Autotransporte in a move aimed at enhancing its finished vehicle logistics services in Europe.
Stobart Europe (formerly Walon), which is a division of Culina Group, said the combined business would better serve its automotive customers and create a more efficient transport network for vehicle deliveries. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
In 2023 Suloja transported more than 35,000 vehicles for customers in Germany using a specialised fleet of 20 transporters. The company’s turnover was €6.8 m ($7.4 m).
Stobart Europe’s own finished vehicle business – Stobart Automotive – has divisions in Belgium, Czech Republic and the Netherlands, deploying a fleet of 100 car transporters to deliver cars across Europe. It provides storage for upwards of 8,000 vehicles, has a delivery centre in Genk, and offers pre-delivery inspection and remarketing services.
“Suloja and Stobart Europe are complementary companies,” said Raf Hustinx, CEO of Stobart Europe. “Both companies are strong organisations with a good reputation in the automotive logistics sector. It is an acquisition that will be beneficial for all employees and customers and will strengthen Stobart Europe’s position as a key player in European automotive logistics.”
Culina Group, an established provider of logistics for fast-moving consumer goods, acquired Stobart Europe when it took over GreenWhiteStar Acquistions in 2021. That buyout also included Stobart (UK), iForce, The Pallet Network and The Logistics People.
