The extended voucher scheme, which is expected to benefit over 2,800 Madrid residents between 2023 and 2025, provides financial support to jobseekers seeking to gain essential driving qualifications.
To be eligible for the voucher, individuals must be registered as unemployed with the Community of Madrid’s employment offices or currently employed in the region. In addition, applicants should hold a Class B (car) driving licence and meet the minimum age requirements for the specific licences they wish to obtain.
The comprehensive training voucher, worth €600, can be redeemed at authorised centres offering professional truck or bus driving training. It covers essential components of the training process, including enrolment fees, didactic materials, 20 hours of theoretical instruction and 10 half-hour sessions focusing on key manoeuvres and driving skills.
Since the introduction of the scheme, 41 driving schools in the region have joined in and signed cooperation agreements, which require participants to submit documentation to their chosen centre, complete the training and then exchange it with the regional administration upon justification.
